Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
F0E2 Overloaded Drum — Excessive Load Detected Low The Kenmore washer stops agitation or spin, displays F0E2, and the door remains locked. The machine may attempt to redistribute the load by slowly tumbling before retrying the cycle step. View F01 Main Electronic Control Board Failure High The Kenmore Elite halts at a random point in any cycle — fill, wash, rinse, or spin — with F01 on the display. Restarting the cycle produces the same halt, typically at the same point. View F1 Primary Control Board Failure — Kenmore Oasis Top-Load High The Kenmore Oasis powers on and immediately shows F1 on its LED display before any cycle is selected, indicating the control board failed its power-on self-check. View F5E2 Door Lock Failure — Cannot Lock or Unlock Medium The Kenmore Elite clicks repeatedly as it attempts to lock the door, then displays F5E2. The cycle never starts because the control board will not energize the motor without a confirmed door lock. View F7 Motor Control / Drive System Fault — Kenmore Oasis High The Kenmore Oasis fills with water normally but the wash plate or agitator never begins moving. F7 appears after the motor's allotted start time expires without confirmed rotation. View F8E1 Low Water Flow / No Water Entering Tub High F8E1 typically appears in the first 3–5 minutes of a cycle — the fill phase — before the drum has begun agitation. The machine adds little or no water and then faults. View F9E1 Long Drain — Drain Time Exceeded (HE Front-Load) High The tub fails to drain and the Kenmore Elite stops with wet laundry sitting in pooled water. F9E1 appears on the display and the door remains locked until partial drainage occurs. View F11 Serial Communication Error — MCU to CCU High The drum stops turning and F11 appears. The machine will not resume the motor-driven cycle step even after a door open-and-close because the CCU has no confirmed communication with the MCU to safely command the motor. View F21 Long Drain — Water Not Pumping Out High The tub fails to empty and wet laundry sits in pooled water. Opening the door (after the door lock releases) reveals a drum still holding several inches of water. View F35 Analog Pressure Sensor Failure / Excessive Suds Medium The Kenmore Elite pauses mid-cycle and alternates F35 with "SUDS" on the seven-segment display. The washer may attempt a slow tumble spin to break down suds before resuming, adding 15–30 minutes to the cycle. View LD Long Drain — Kenmore Oasis / Top-Load HE High Lifting the lid of the Kenmore Oasis or 500-series top-loader reveals a tub still holding water and wet laundry. The machine has stopped at a drain or spin step and will not advance. View UL Unbalanced Load — Top-Load Oasis / HE Low The Kenmore Oasis or 500-series top-loader pauses at a high-spin entry point, displays UL, and may attempt a slow agitation to redistribute items before retrying. The tub has usually partially drained before the spin attempt. View
